Let me set this scenario for you.
You have something you need to do. It’s in your mind. It’s on your to-do list. It’s right there for you to remember and make sure you get done.
But then life happens — unplanned conference call, kids forget something at home for school, a deadline creeps up, etc.
Guess what happens to that “thing” you NEEDED to do? You forget it and it goes on the back burner.
This is what happens with people we’re working with, too.
Life happens and things *might* slip through or get forgotten. This is why it is imperative to ALWAYS follow up. You never, ever know what’s going on —- on the other end.
Here’s the beauty of the follow-up; if you don’t do it — your ask may never go through. It’s essential to your hustle to make sure you stay on top of all emails/calls/meetings. They are all potential ways to help grow your business and move your hustle forward. When you follow up, you’re top of mind again. ALWAYS make your follow-up emails or calls friendly and upbeat!
I can’t tell you how many wonderful things have happened for us when we follow through. Our rule of thumb? Wait a solid week — if you haven’t heard back, just pop a short and sweet message over to them!
