Being an entrepreneur isn’t an easy route to take.
You are your own boss.
You call all the shots.
You stay up late and wake up early.
You eat, sleep and think about your business 24/7.
You are the one who everyone is relying on.
You are, truly, everything.
Many times finding a little extra inspiration keeps you going! For me – reading some really great books ALWAYS helps. I’m a magnet for inspirational and motivational business and entrepreneurial books. They fuel me. For me seeing the beginning of a beginning of someone’s success story is very helpful.
I always keep a stack of books right next to my bed to pursue before I hit my pillow. I’m excited to share with you 5 of my favorite HUSTLE books to help keep you on course and make the next step exciting for you! It’s always amazing to grab nuggets of information from people who are killing it (in no particular order)!

2. Martha Inc.: The Incredible Story of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia by Christopher M. Byron
Like her or not – she’s a business guru. This book has some great tidbits about her rise. Oldie, but a goodie!
Martha Stewart has generated an enormous following by establishing herself as the leading authority for all things domestic and in the process created a multimillion-dollar enterprise and a personal net worth of nearly $2 billion. As one of the most successful self-made female business owners in American history, Martha Stewart is a topic of interest for fans, business professionals and would-be entrepreneurs alike.
Martha Inc. tells the compelling story of how this complex woman created an empire on domesticity and examines her business inside and out
I love reading books that have to do with the mind of entrepreneur. Entrepreneurs think differently from other people. They do things differently and they take risks differently. This book really hit home to me and I loved reading about beliefs and characteristics and habits.
To achieve unimaginable business success and financial wealth—to reach the upper echelons of entrepreneurs, where you’ll find Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook, Sara Blakely of Spanx, Mark Pincus of Zynga, Kevin Plank of Under Armour, and many others—you have to change the way you think. In other words, you must develop the Entrepreneur Mind, a way of thinking that comes from learning the vital lessons of the best entrepreneurs.
4. How to Win Friends and Influence People in the Digital Age by Dale Carnegie
Well, this is an important read! I love reading Dale’s original book “How to Win Friends & Influence People,” but then he added the Digital Age version! Worth a read if your business AT ALL involves digital (which everyone’s should!).
Dale Carnegie’s time-tested advice has carried millions upon millions of readers for more than seventy-five years up the ladder of success in their business and personal lives. Now the first and best book of its kind has been rebooted to tame the complexities of modern times and will teach you how to communicate with diplomacy and tact, capitalize on a solid network, make people like you, project your message widely and clearly, be a more effective leader, increase your ability to get things done, and optimize the power of digital tools.
I read this cover to cover on a plan ride to LA recently and I couldn’t out it down! Honestly… you should also read You are a Badass at Making Money, too! But this one – it’s definitely a great read!
In this refreshingly entertaining how-to guide, #1 New York Times Bestselling Author and world-traveling success coach, Jen Sincero, serves up 27 bite-sized chapters full of hilariously inspiring stories, sage advice, easy exercises, and the occasional swear word. If you’re ready to make some serious changes around here, You Are a Badass will help you: Identify and change the self-sabotaging beliefs and behaviors that stop you from getting what you want, blast past your fears so you can take big exciting risks, figure out how to make some damn money already, learn to love yourself and others, set big goals and reach them – it will basically show you how to create a life you totally love, and how to create it NOW.
