Do you know how to use your hustle to give back to those around you? Do you feel part of your community? Do you show up for it? Stop and think about those questions before you rush to answer. Would people around you say that you are someone they can depend on who helps to share much-needed knowledge with people around you? Do you do so without an quid pro quos? Do you watch their silly awesome youtube videos?
We believe this is one of the most important things entrepreneurs can do so today we’re sharing tips for giving back and showing up. It doesn’t matter what you do, we all are part of a community of something. Make sure you’re SHOWING UP.
4 Tips for Giving Back and Showing Up
1. Give your time.
You don’t always have to support other businesses by giving them money (ie. buying their products). That is nice to do and if you want to and can support like-minded businesses, go for it. But giving back can also be a function of your time too. Give your energy, passion and value to people around you. Support projects that may not have anything to do with you. Ask yourself what can you do for others, regardless of what will come back to you.
2. Be reliable.
You have to be consistent and be reliable. It is a MUST. People need to know they can count on you. They need to know they can depend on you to be there. When you are creating a community, on social media or in real life, be a reliable outlet and source. Don’t spread fake news. Don’t misconstrue opinion for facts. If you love what you are doing, it won’t be a drag to get the right information out. And if it is a drag, maybe you aren’t in the correct space. On our Permission to Hustle facebook group, we post and interact with our community on a daily basis. We always have. We always will.
3. Be a joiner.
Join other communities and support other people’s passion. You want others to support you, right? Like their posts. Retweet. Leave comments on their blog. Listen to their podcast! You can learn from other communities. Absorb their information and use it to better your own.
4. Stay educated.
Know the trends. Be on top of what’s next in your space. You have to make sure you know what’s going on so you can pass on relevant, timely information to your supporters. Make sure you are in the know when it comes to your field of expertise. This is how you become a leader in your space. Don’t want for someone to call you an expert, make yourself one. Arm yourself with all the information that is needed in your community space.
